Academic Activity

1. Can I choose activities under different groups? Can I take more than six academic activities?
  No. All participants will be classed in either one group and attend the academic activities under the same group.

2. Are there any homework, tests or examinations?
  No. The academic activities are primarily conducted in the mode of game, competition, workshop or demo lecture. Participants need to complete the worksheets, group discussions or group presentations in class only.

Application and Participation Fee

3. I am studying Secondary 6 in 2016-17 academic year, can I join this event?
  Form 6 students are welcomed to join the Academy. Please approach your school teacher and the confirmed result will be announced in early May 2017.

4. I have not taken any Business subjects like Economics or Business, Accounting and Financial Studies, can I join this event?
  Yes. No relevant knowledge is required.

5. What does the participation fee cover?
  The participation fee covers the expenditure includes all activities, two meals and group insurance.

6. Can I withdraw in case I confirmed another study tour after paying for the HSMC Summer Academy 2017?
  Yes. You can withdraw from the HSMC Summer Academy 2017 by sending us email (sa@hsmc.edu.hk) as soon as possible.  Once the place is confirmed with participation fee, no cash refunds will be made for any personal reasons.

7. Are there any credit transfer or credit exemption if I was admitted to HSMC undergraduate programmes?
  No credit transfer or credit exemption will be arranged for participants of Summer Academy. However, participants can gain admission interview opportunities when they apply for HSMC undergraduate programmes in future.

General Arrangement

8. What personal belongings and clothes should I prepare?
  You can bring your own stationery, jacket and empty bottle. Please dress properly during the whole programme.

9. Do I need to prepare my daily meals?
  Two lunch will be provided by HSMC. You may prepare your own snacks if needed.

10. I have serious food allergy, is it possible to have special meal arrangement?
  All participants need to complete a set of declaration forms in early May 2017. We will contact you for further discussion
after receiving your notification.
