  • gain interview opportunities when you apply for our undergraduate programmes in the future.*

All participants will reside at the HSMC Jockey Club Residential Colleges.


Important Notes

  1. 1. Participants will be housed in the triple / quad rooms at the HSMC Jockey Club Residential Colleges with loft bed, built-in washroom and shower unit.
  2. 2. Free air-conditioning and WI-FI are available.

Application and Fee


The following students are eligible to apply for the HSMC Summer Academy 2018:

  • Local S.4 to S.6 students in Academic Year 2017/18; or
  • Local students pursuing other equivalent curriculum e.g. International Baccalaureate (IB) or GCE-AL.
  • Preference will be given to local S.5 students.



Application Method︰ Online application should be submitted by your secondary school teachers
Quota︰ Each school can nominate 10 students at maximum
Application Deadline︰ 25 April 2018 (Wed)
Announcement of Result︰ Application results will be announced in early May 2018 via email


Participation Fee

HKD700 for each participant covers tuition fee meals, accommodation, group personal accident insurance and certificate.


Important Notes

  1. Upon completion of application procedure, all confirmed places are non-transferable.
  2. Applicants who would like to withdraw from the HSMC Summer Academy 2018, should email (sa@hsmc.edu.hk) to us as soon as possible. No cash refunds under any circumstances once the place is confirmed with participation fee paid. Detailed of which please see Point 3 and 4 below.
  3. No cash refunds for applicants who are unable to participate in the event because of personal reasons, issuance of Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above, or issuance of Red / Black Rainstorm Signal.
  4. No cash refunds for absentees, late-comers or early-leavers.
  5. HSMC should refund the participation fee to participants if the event being cancelled by HSMC. Notification email will be sent to all participants in due course.

Programme and Activities

1. Can I choose academic activities under different groups?
  No. All participants will be classed in either one group and attend the academic activities under the same group.

2. Are there any homework, tests or examinations?
  No. The academic activities are primarily conducted in the mode of demo lecture, game or workshop. Participants need to complete the worksheets, group discussions or group presentations in class only.

3. Is the after class activities compulsory to join?
  Participants must join either one of the after class activities to experience the diversified college life.


4. Do I need to reside in the Residential Colleges?
  Yes. All participants should reside in the Residential Colleges to experience the unique residential life.

5. Can I choose the room type or my roommate?
  No. HSMC will make room assignment and which of roommates.

6. Are there any free WI-FI in the Residential Colleges?
  Yes. Free WI-FI is available. Participants are kindly advised to take good care of their own properties such as the mobile communication devices.

Personal Belongings and Meals

7. What personal belongings should I prepare?
  Please bring your stationery, empty bottle, jacket, clothes and sanitary items, and dress properly during the whole programme. Some participants should prepare the sportswear for after class activity, details will be email in due course.

8. Do I need to prepare my daily meals?
  All meals will be supplied by HSMC. You may prepare your own snacks if needed.

9. I have serious food allergy, can I have special meal arrangement?
  All participants need to submit a set of declaration forms in early May 2018. We will contact you after receiving your notification.

Application and Participation Fee

10. I have not taken any Business subjects like Economics or Business, Accounting and Financial Studies, can I join this event?
  Yes. No relevant knowledge is required.

11. Can I withdraw if I confirmed another study tour after paying for the HSMC Summer Academy 2018?
  Yes. You can withdraw from the HSMC Summer Academy 2018 by sending us email (sa@hsmc.edu.hk) as soon as possible. Once the place is confirmed with participation fee, no cash refunds will be made for any personal reasons.

12. Are there any credit transfer or credit exemption if I am admitted to HSMC undergraduate programmes in future?
  No credit transfers or credit exemptions will be arranged for Summer Academy participants when they admitted to HSMC undergraduate programmes.
